Ahh, so much fun. A trip to florida made without air conditioning. I would have paid the 10$ we saved in gas prices by the end of it.
Oma and Opa are living in yet another cookie-cutter neighborhood, down to the same cream stucco and white mailboxes with black bands on the cross-pieces. Take away the color and it could be a scene from The Giver. I just don't understand why anyone would give up their individuality to live in a place like this. Yet this is the fourth identical neighborhood they've lived in since they moved to Florida, so they must get something out of it. And now Opa's talking about moving to North Carolina. Do we have those scary cookie cutter neighborhoods too? I suppose we must, but I've never seen one. I trust Opa will find them though.
The wedding. Very nice. It was a beach wedding, at sunset, very casual and pretty. A civil ceremony, with the bride in her bare feet. And it all seemed to fit somehow. I think the last time I saw Lindsay was when she was 16. And now she's 22 and married. Wow. Weird thought. This makes the second person close to my age to get married, and I'm sure it won't be the last. And I think Oma expects me to go next, which is even weirder. She made some comment about how I was the next, age wise, to go. Not until I get out of vet school, that's for sure! And then there's the small issue with not having someone to marry at the moment. Never mind that though, I'm going to be the next to get married!! Whee! Oh yes, sarcasm, a lost art in this household. They just don't get it. Sigh.
All for now, I have 4 people waiting on this excruciatingly slow dial up. One more thing though. Reinquist died. God help us.

You haven't spent much time in Cary, have you? We love the cookie cutter neighborhoods to pieces. Well, not me, but Cary developers. We could go on a field trip to Preston sometime.

Nope, my mom avoids Cary like the plague. I was raised to individuality, which makes my grandparents living in a cookie-cutter neighborhood a bit perplexing...

Since the rest of the government has managed to toss the Bill of Rights out the window, the Supreme Court won't matter much. Their ability to enforce their rulings is based on the other branches of government paying attention to the Constitution, something they've been lacking in the past four years. The Supreme Court ruled (this is a long time ago) that Andrew Jackson could not forcibly move the Cherokee Indians. He did anyway. So long as what the President, or Congress, wants to do is popular, they can get away with ignoring the Supreme Court because the Court has no power to enforce its rulings other than through the other two branches.

True, but the Supreme Court can set precedents now that will matter when a different government decides that the Bill of Rights is worth following again. And it scares me to think of what precedents this court may set.
