winterthunder: (not groovy)
I have added yet another item to the yet unwritten list of things that I hate: Flying Roaches. Particularly flying roaches that make buzzing noises intermitently from midnight to 3:30 am whenever I am about to fall asleep but disappear when I turn on the light to squish them. Which, incidently, is exactly what happened last night. Upon turning on the light for the umpteenth time at 3:30 I spotted the vile thing, chased it around the room and under the bed with a flyswatter, removed all storage bins from under the bed and finally dealt it a death blow whilst it sat on my power strip and then flushed it down the toilet while taking vindictive pleasure at watching it's legs flail helplessly. After that I was sweating and my room was hot, so I put my pillow and sheets into the freezer and opened the window until the room cooled down. Closed the window and managed to drift off around 4am, I think, for a grand total of 2 and a half hours of sleep before the alarm went off. I'm rather amazed that I drove into work safely, let alone the fact that I'm actually being marginally productive. Still. Damn roach.

Apparantly when I am sleep deprived I lose the ability to determine how fast other people are going. This is a problem when people pull out in front of you or stop suddenly. Both of which happened on the way home from work.

The next time I have to do that I'm just calling someone to come get me. Or leaving early. Or, better yet, just not going in at all.
