At risk of sounding old...
Aug. 3rd, 2005 10:15 pmThings sure have changed a lot since I got my wisdom teeth out. Granted, it was 7 years ago (on september 11th, oddly enough), but I wouldn't have thought that wisdom tooth removing technology would have advanced that much. Erin has percosets, anti-nausia, antibiotics and antimicrobial mouthwash- I think I had percoset, not really sure though. Erin got fluids and valium and laughing gas, I had an anesthetic drip. I do remember having soup the same day, which Erin was told not to do. It's all rather perplexing to me, since I seemed to heal quite nicely without all the extra drugs, which begs the question of why give them out in the first place? Especially since we've done virtually no studies on the effects of combining drugs, so we have no way of really knowing how they affect our bodies when you combine that many of them. Not that we have much of an idea how they affect us one at a time, either. Hmmm. Oh well. Erin, here's to a speedy and pain free recovery, and a visit from your fellow Jeffersons tomorrow. We shall come bearing peanut butter ice cream, toppings and pasta. Essential for wisdom tooth recovery. Pasta provides wisdom, so say I.
