Gacked from [personal profile] femmequixotic cause I'm bored and felt like it. :D

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicise that you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. Add an asterisk* to those you've read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list.

How sad is it that I own just about everything on my to-read list? And that this to-read list only makes up a portion of the actual unread books that I own? I need a month where I do nothing but read; oh, that would be heavenly...

So many of these books are standards for high school English classes. How has no one read them?!

I think it really depends on the teacher and the school. I know of a lot of books that are considered high school standard reading that I never got within shouting distance of.

I've said this to others, so I will comment to you too:

A Confederacy of Dunces is such a weird book that I think it should be on everyone's To Read list. It's about a guy in New Orleans who thinks he's overly important, lives with his mom, and eats continuously.

Hmm. *goes to edit the page* At the moment my to-read list consists of books I actually own, 85 or so links in my "Books I want to get" bookmarks folder and books that I've heard of or had recommended.

My reason for reading it was random. It's been on my mom's shelf forever, and then one day on Gilmore Girls, someone had a poster of the cover, and that convinced me to read it.

There are books on this list that I forgot I'd wanted to read. I should bookmark it for that reason. :D
