Sep. 25th, 2008 09:14 pmIt's time for another episode of The Republicans! Now with super-snazzy video in addition to links!
First up, I'm sure you've all heard about Senator McCain suspending his campaign to rush back to Washington and deal with the financial crisis. Because, you know, the president never has to deal with multiple things at once, so he can just drop whatever else he's doing whenever something else comes up. And it's not like he's been spending much time in Congress lately anyway. Or if he has, he's not voting.
But anyway, the country is in a Crisis and Senator John McCain is rushing to the rescue! He cancels an appearance with David Letterman to go straight to the airport! ( Except for that pit stop for an interview with Katie Couric along the way. I'm sure he just had to go to the bathroom and got roped into it or something. Damn media. )
Speaking of Katie Couric, she also interviewed Alaskan governor Sarah Palin.... Looking at this, I can really see why McCain is suggesting that the Presidential debate be postponed to the date of the VP debate, with the latter being rescheduled for an undetermined future date. ( Just watch the interview. The woman is clueless. )
I'm not sure what to laugh at more- the attempts to justify proximity to Russia as foreign policy experience, the rambling and incoherent answer (with notes, no less!) on solutions to the current economic crisis or the accidental insertion of health care reform into discussion about the bailout.
And, one final video to round out tonight's episode- from collegehumor.com, the trailer for ( Head of Skate, the newest Disney video about that Alaskan Hockey Mom that suddenly finds herself nominated for Vice President. )
That's all, folks! Don't forget to tune in next time for another episode of The Republicans!
