(no subject)

I have a question to pose to all of you out there in lj land. How would I make an animated icon? I have the pieces of two icons I'd like to make but I can't figure out how to string them together. Any thoughts? I have a mac, and I would prefer to use something that's either already on my computer or is free to very cheap.
