An open letter to the washer/drier

Please, give me back my socks. I realize that you are ancient and should be worshipped for working and all that, but I'm afraid I must take offense. I only had one pair of black socks and I'd really rather not have to go out and get another pair the night before I next have to dress up. Especially since I just bought that pair to replace the last one you ate. I really can't go into an interview in funky monkey socks, no matter how cute they are.
