Oct. 4th, 2006 04:20 pmSo now that I've been thrust into the world of big name scholarships and all that shit, I'm running up against a major attitude difference between myself and this world. I'm sure I'll find more, but it's currently showing up in the issue of honorary societies. I honestly don't give a flip because I think that in 20 years no one is going to care if I was in golden this or kappa that. They're going to care that I perform well and am reliable and produce results. So I've ignored the invitations as they came in and now suddenly they're important because everyone I'm competing against has accepted them. I've been perfectly happy not caring about my class rank since I got to the university. I went and looked it up today and it's very respectable but just short of high enough to get into the societies that supposedly matter.
*sigh*
This would be so much easier if everyone just accepted the fact that I'm wonderful and threw money at me when I walked by:p
