Someday...

Someday I want a library. One of those rooms lined with floor to ceiling bookshelves and maybe even a rolling ladder. I need more storage space in a rather scary way. I've expanded the open area in my room from a path from the bed to the door to about 4'x5'. I can't start unpacking anything else because there's literally nowhere to put it! So when dad gets back from Joe's soccer game I'm pouncing on him and WE ARE GOING TO HOME DEPOT!!! There we will purchase supplies to build extra shelves above my desk and drawers under my bed. Then we will do these things ASAP, meaning NOW. I am living in this room for the remainder of the year. I refuse to have it piled with stuff around the perimeter for much longer. Once books and desk related things have a home I will turn to the miscelaneous bags of stuff that are piled on the chairs and the couch. Those will go into the apartment at the end of the summer, and that will clear up some space.

Which speaking of, I have a question to pose to you all. I am aware that I have some possession/trust issues, probably the product of having a younger brother who used to walk into my room, help himself to something and thank me for the "gift" which usually led to an all out screaming match. I am also aware that some of my future apartment mates have fallen foul of this issue I have, despite my best efforts to control it. My question is this- since I've lent things to people in the past and had them come back damaged, is it appropriate to state at the start of the lease that I'm fine with my furniture being used in an apartment I won't be residing in for another 6 months, but if the cushions are damaged could they please be cleaned/replaced? The furniture is This End Up, so I'm not too worried about the frame being damaged and they've already been scratched up since I got them from my Grandparents when they moved. But the cushions are in pretty good shape and I'd like them to stay that way since I'm planning on having these pieces in my possession for a while. So am I being overly possessive or reasonable? I leave it to you to decide...
