It's been a busy but relatively boring week. I went to Barefoot in the Park last night, which was insanely funny. It's about a newlywed couple in New York. The humor, especially from the husband, was the biting sarcasm that I love. I was jealous of the female lead, cause she got to kiss him several times and he was really hot:P What is it with me falling in love with characters?

The avalanche refers to all the homework I've been doing. I'm starting to feel a bit nervous when I try to figure out how I'm going to get this all done. There's so much of it that I can't keep track of it all, and bits of assignments slip in and out of my mind when I'm trying to plan out a schedule. Then the stress level rises when I realize what I've forgotten, except by that time something else has slipped out. Aaack! I worked 6 hours to catch up with what I didn't get done this week, and I have to do monday and tuesday's homework, outline a poly sci term paper and do essays for the study abroad scholarship. There's also the religion term paper, the article database and the spanish paper (in spanish!) that aren't due next week but are going to take a boatload of time and I really need to get started on. One month left, how am I going to do this?

Concert. The Bill Charlap Trio. I know now where the music that they play in supermarkets and doctor's offices comes from. It was pleasant, I guess, but I had this feeling that I ought to be doing something else, since I've never listened to that kind of music in a concert setting. It was soft jazz, with a piano, a base and drums. Very technically impressive but not that interesting. There didn't seem to be much of a coherance within the group, they would just stare into space during the solos, and the pianist even turned away from the drummer during one drum solo. The pianist also slumped over the piano. Not that I'm the posture queen, but it was really noticeable. He reminded me vaguely of a sitcom character, he just really didn't seem comfortable on stage. The drummer was more interesting to look at, but not by much. Oh well. I guess when you go to a lot of different concerts and such there are going to be things that you don't like. There haven't been many scholars events that I haven't enjoyed though, maybe three in three semesters. Pretty good track record.
